Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the analysis, design and optimisation of IT‑supported business applications and processes. Acting as the interface between business units, IT teams and external vendors, you ensure that requirements are complete, traceable and aligned with organisational goals. Your structured approach, analytical strength and methodological expertise enable efficient delivery and high‑quality outcomes across complex IT projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle requirements engineering: elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, change management and traceability
- Facilitate stakeholder interactions through workshops, interviews, alignment meetings and structured decision preparation
- Translate business needs into clear functional concepts, use cases, user stories and process models
- Evaluate solution options and provide recommendations balancing functional fit, technical feasibility, compliance and cost/value
- Support delivery governance through prioritisation, quality assurance, testing coordination and business acceptance
- Ensure compliance with data protection, IT security and accessibility in requirements and documentation

- Workshop/interview reports, meeting minutes and decision logs
- Presentations, interim and final reports

Must‑Have Qualifications (A‑Criteria)
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or equivalent qualification with at least 30% IT components (infrastructure services, platforms, business applications), or at least 5 years of proven experience as an IT Business Analyst
- German language proficiency at C1 level (spoken and written)
- Proven expertise in at least one structured method for requirements analysis or process modelling (BPMN, use cases, user stories, or equivalent)
- Participation in a minimum of two completed IT projects, demonstrating:
- Elicitation and analysis of business requirements
- Documentation and alignment with business units and IT
- At least 5 years (1 year = 200 person‑days) of experience as IT Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer or similar within the last 10 years (Jan 2016–Feb 2026)
Should‑Have Qualifications (B‑Criteria)
- Experience (in the last 10 years) in one or more of the following:
- Business process analysis
- Analysis of specialist applications
- Analysis of IT systems
- Translating business requirements into implementable IT specifications
- Experience in public‑sector IT project environments (federal, state or municipal), ideally with high person‑day volume
- Strong evidence through references of:
- Facilitation of workshops and interviews
- Clear communication of complex topics
- Creation and maintenance of requirements documentation
- Change and stakeholder management
- High‑quality presentations, interim and final reporting
- Quality assurance and documentation
- Navigating internal administrative processes and decision structures
- Documentation of decisions and project outcomes
- Experience with analysis of projects in IT infrastructure and IT organisation contexts

Although open to technologies used by our customers, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS seeks mainly but not only consultants mastering: Windows and Linux Servers, networks, developments (JAVA, SAP, .NET,…) as well as highly specialized experts for example in cybersecurity or in Content Management System (CMS) (SharePoint, Drupal, WebLogic…).

A very good command of English is essential, the capacity to speak French, German or Dutch is an asset.
Even though most of our positions require at least 3 years of experience, some are open to new starters.
