The mission focuses on business analysis and product management expertise within the cards domain. The role supports the continuous evolution of card products and services by analysing market dynamics, customer needs, and product performance, while ensuring that business changes are clearly defined, well‑aligned with IT, and successfully delivered.
You will operate at the intersection of business, product, and technology, playing a key role in translating strategic objectives into implementable solutions.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Senior Business Analyst – Cards, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring the market, competition, customer needs, and performance of card products and services (revenues, market share, NPS, etc.)
- Analysing issues and identifying opportunities for improvement across card products and services
- Analysing and evaluating change requests
- Collaborating with squad members to identify solution options and assess alternatives
- Developing clear business requirements and acceptance criteria
- Acting as a key interface between business stakeholders and IT
- Bridging business needs with IT delivery teams
- Defining the business scope, target operating model, and business/IT interfaces
- Following up on change implementation, including Business Acceptance Testing (BAT)
Required Experience & Knowledge
Professional Experience
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst
- Proven experience in a cards‑related environment
Business Expertise (Mandatory)
- Strong expertise in card products, services, and related business processes
- In‑depth knowledge of the cards industry, preferably within Belgium (market players, trends, ecosystem)
- Ability to understand, structure, and communicate complex business topics and their link to IT
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in a cards environment
Technical Knowledge
- Mandatory: Understanding of cards‑related systems and architectures
Preferred
- Experience in project management and/or Product Owner roles within cards or payments
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of alternative or complementary payment methods (e.g. Wero, Apple Pay, digital wallets)
Languages
- Dutch: Good spoken communication skills
- French: Good spoken communication skills
- English: Strong written and spoken communication skills
Education
- Master’s degree in Business Management, or equivalent through relevant professional experience

Although open to technologies used by our customers, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS seeks mainly but not only consultants mastering: Windows and Linux Servers, networks, developments (JAVA, SAP, .NET,…) as well as highly specialized experts for example in cybersecurity or in Content Management System (CMS) (SharePoint, Drupal, WebLogic…).

A very good command of English is essential, the capacity to speak French, German or Dutch is an asset.
