Senior Storage & Backup Engineer
Are you an experienced and skilled professional in storage and backup solutions?
We are seeking a Senior Storage & Backup Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a seasoned expert, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing storage and backup environments, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the configuration, maintenance, and administration of SAN/NAS based storage environment.
- Oversee and configure Brocade Fibre Channel Directors/Switches.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot IO performance issues.
- Provide architecture and performance recommendations.
- Supervise and optimize daily Backup activities.
- Collaborate effectively with IT staff to address storage and backup needs.
- Implement automation for processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Identify and assess technical issues and associated risks.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Large Scale Storage Area Network Systems (Design, Build, Operate), including Dell/EMC, NetApp, HDS, etc.
- Proficiency in CommVault Backup tool & administration is considered a significant asset.
- Expertise in Fiber Channel switches (Cisco and/or Brocade).
- Hands-on experience with NFS/CIFS and Block Storage.
- Strong server platform knowledge in Windows and Linux environments.
- Scripting knowledge, including but not limited to Perl, Python, etc.
- Familiarity with project management processes and procedures.
- Experience in a managed service environment with a service-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to provide 24x7 Support.
- Expertise in Data Replication & Snapshot technologies.
- Self-driven with a willingness to continually expand technical skill set.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
