Data Center Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain infrastructure across data centers.
- Prepare and install new transmission paths.
- Build and manage configuration management records.
- Plan, install, and configure rack-mounted equipment.
- Support change management processes.
- Manage data center media.
- Implement physical security measures.
- Ensure TEMPEST compliance.
- Design and build capacity solutions.
- Contribute to IaaS project development and execution.
- Assist in staff recruitment and selection.
- Provide technical briefings and presentations.
- Deputize for higher grade staff when needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Higher vocational training with 3 years of relevant experience, or secondary educational qualification with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
- Recent data center experience at technician level or higher.
- Knowledge of data center cabling, infrastructure, MTP Fiber installations, rack and aisle build-out.
- Familiarity with TEMPEST regulations and health and safety protocols.
- Electrical safety knowledge and some power engineering.
- Experience with configuration management environments and fiber channel environments.
Certifications:
- ITIL Foundation.
- Certification in fiber optic splicing and termination.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a STEM field.
- CCNA Data Center certification or equivalent.
- Health and Safety Certification.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate certification (or equivalent).
- Cyber Security knowledge related to data center management.
- Experience in international environments with both military and civilian elements.
Position Details:
- Citizenship: EU citizenship preferred.
- Languages: Fluent English, no German required.
- Security clearance required.
- Remote work possible with occasional commute to Ulm required.
