Under the direction of the Head of Network Management, the Network Technician will be responsible for providing first and second-line network support, diagnosing and resolving network incidents, and ensuring smooth network operations. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle network systems independently while contributing to the overall security and efficiency of the network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network support: Provide first and second-line network support to the Service Centre.
• Incident resolution: Perform diagnoses and resolve network incidents and problems.
• System configuration: Install, replace, modify, and configure network systems.
• Monitoring: Monitor network systems and proactively report and resolve potential issues.
• Documentation: Write Standard Operating Procedures to document network systems.
• Cisco ISE operations: Operate Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to support client installations, moves, and changes.
• Security assessments: Provide support and assistance during preparation and security assessments.
• Technical leadership: Act as technical lead for standalone Internet lines and carrier connectivity.
• Supervision: Supervise and escort external ICT providers.
• PNWI activities: Take the technical lead for Passive Network Infrastructure (PNWI) related activities.
• Additional duties: Perform any other network cabling-related duties as required.

Requirements:

Educational Background: Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience, or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience.

Experience:

• At least 4 years of working experience with network support activities in LAN switching.
• At least 4 years of experience with Passive Network Infrastructure systems.
• Recent CCNA level working knowledge (at least 4 years).
• Recent experience with monitoring Cisco Prime (at least 2 years).
• Experience with Cisco ISE client devices resolution (at least 2 years).
• Experience with Cisco Wireless Access Points and related configurations (at least 2 years).
• Recent experience with Microsoft IPAM.
• Recent experience with DNS and DHCP.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
• French language proficiency for communications with external service providers.
• ITIL certification.
• Experience with communication interfacing of Crypto systems.

Clearance: Applicants must be available for a Security Clearance.
