Within the Corporate Digital & Data department, the mission is to enable the organization to fully leverage data as a strategic asset. Data is at the core of business performance, supporting strategic ambitions, innovation, transformation initiatives, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
You will join a mature and evolving Data Organization built around:
- A modern data platform including integration tools, analytics, BI, storage, master data management, and data governance (lineage and data quality).
- Agile Business Product Teams supporting business initiatives.
- Platform and Backbone Teams enabling scalable data solutions.
- Transversal competency teams working in a Spotify-inspired agile model.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, you will primarily be part of a Product Team and contribute to delivering data-driven products rather than standalone technical solutions. Your work will directly support better data quality, improved services, and enhanced decision-making for internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities include:
- Designing and building robust data pipelines.
- Developing efficient data storage structures and analytical models.
- Creating performant materialized views across analytical technologies.
- Delivering data exchange endpoints tailored to user needs.
- Interacting with data governance components such as data modeling, glossary, lineage, and data quality.
- Collaborating closely with business analysts and stakeholders to refine requirements and propose pragmatic, reusable solutions.
- Contributing to testing strategies, DevOps practices, and technical documentation.
- Challenging assumptions with rational thinking and a product-oriented mindset.
- Promoting transversal data thinking across the enterprise to maximize reuse, coherence, and adoption.
What This Role Is Not
- You will not operate from an isolated technical perspective.
- You will not impose decisions on the business, but instead guide and advise with clear reasoning.
- You will not deliver purely technical artifacts, but meaningful product features.
Technical Skills
You have strong hands-on experience (ideally 3–5+ years) in at least two of the following areas:
- SQL Server usage.
- Building data pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Stream/Log Analytics, and Azure DevOps.
- Developing data pipelines and enrichments using Python in a Databricks environment.
- Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies (e.g. Redis, RabbitMQ, Neo4j, Apache Arrow).
- Experience with Power BI.
- SAP data integration experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

Languages
- English: C1–C2 (mandatory – fluent spoken, written, and reading skills).
- German, French, or Dutch: B2–C1 (soft requirement).

Although open to technologies used by our customers, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS seeks mainly but not only consultants mastering: Windows and Linux Servers, networks, developments (JAVA, SAP, .NET,…) as well as highly specialized experts for example in cybersecurity or in Content Management System (CMS) (SharePoint, Drupal, WebLogic…).
In terms of non-technical competencies, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS hires dynamic persons, open to the world, interested by innovation and having a keen sense of client relationship.
A very good command of English is essential, the capacity to speak French, German or Dutch is an asset.
Even though most of our positions require at least 3 years of experience, some are open to new starters.
