An opportunity is available for a Monitoring Architect responsible for defining, designing, and evolving enterprise monitoring solutions. The role focuses on building scalable and resilient monitoring architectures while ensuring observability platforms meet operational, security, and business requirements.
The position operates in close collaboration with Monitoring SREs, IT operations teams, system engineers, and application teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Monitoring Architect is responsible for designing and improving monitoring and observability solutions across infrastructure and applications.
Main responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain end-to-end monitoring architectures for infrastructure, systems, and applications
- Define monitoring standards, best practices, and design guidelines
- Evaluate, select, and integrate monitoring tools and technologies
- Design effective alerting strategies (thresholds, logic, escalation, noise reduction)
- Ensure monitoring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable
- Provide expert support to Monitoring SRE teams for complex incidents and technical issues
- Guide the onboarding of new systems and services into monitoring platforms
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and drive monitoring improvements
- Document architectures, configurations, and operational procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of observability practices (metrics, alerts, dashboards, SLIs/SLOs)
Required Profile
Technical Skills
- Strong background in Linux system administration
- Solid experience in system engineering and IT operations
- Proven expertise in designing and operating monitoring solutions

Hands-on experience with observability tools such as:
- Icinga
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- Experience with metrics, alerts, dashboards, and monitoring automation

Familiarity with automation and CI/CD tools:
- Jenkins
- GitLab
- Ansible
- Terraform
- Experience working with REST APIs across multiple tools and platforms
- Good understanding of networking, virtualization, and distributed systems
- Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams
- Capacity to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Structured and documentation-oriented mindset
- Proactive and improvement-driven attitude
Nice to Have
- Experience with SRE practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)
- Exposure to cloud and container environments (Kubernetes, cloud monitoring)
- Experience in reducing alert fatigue and improving monitoring efficiency
- Knowledge of Dynatrace Managed and Dynatrace certification
Requirements
- European Union citizenship is mandatory
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
- Additional European languages are considered a plus
