Mission Context
The Data Engineer is responsible for preparing and delivering data in a secure and accessible manner for business and functional uses. This includes enabling reporting, analytics, and application needs. The role contributes to increased productivity across the organization by delivering high-quality data assets that can be used bank-wide or for specific local needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Gather business requirements using various techniques
- Translate requirements into efficient data solutions: design data flows, data models, datasets, mapping rules, and access mechanisms
- Identify “golden” data sources and define integration rules
- Prototype solutions to support business validation
- Design and develop logical and physical data models and data stores (data warehouses, datamarts, datasets)
- Industrialize data feeding and delivery pipelines
- Streamline data pipelines enterprise-wide for maximum usability
Languages Required
- Mandatory: Native Dutch or French
- Optional/Plus: English
Education
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, engineering) required
- PhD is an advantage
- Other academic backgrounds with strong analytics knowledge may be considered
Certifications (Optional)
- SAS EG, SAP, Tableau, or related technologies
Work Arrangement
- 50% on-site / 50% remote
Experience & Technical Skills
Mandatory:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Data Analytics
- SAS EG, SQL, Oracle
- Banking experience and project management
Preferred:
- Python, Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, Tableau
