AISB-579 Security Architect

We’re looking for an experienced IT Security Architect to join our cybersecurity division and help shape, secure, and defend critical IT infrastructures and digital services. If you have a passion for security-by-design, cloud technologies, and large-scale architecture, this is your chance to make a real impact. As an IT Security Architect, you will play a key role in defining and implementing the cybersecurity strategy that protects sensitive digital systems, services, and assets. You will design and document secure architecture models, guide technical teams in their implementation, and ensure security is embedded throughout the entire lifecycle of systems, from design to deployment.

Your Role

• Designing and maintaining cybersecurity architectures for infrastructure, systems, and cloud environments.
• Supporting the definition and implementation of cybersecurity strategies, policies, and goals.
• Ensuring all solutions adhere to security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles.
• Coordinating the secure development, integration, and maintenance of cybersecurity components.
• Conducting architecture reviews and security assessments for ongoing and future projects.
• Collaborating closely with architecture, operations, and development teams to ensure consistent security standards.
• Advising management and technical stakeholders on security architecture best practices and risk mitigation.
• Staying up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats and trends to anticipate and prevent potential risks.

Your Profile

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in key architecture roles within ICT projects.
• At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture and design.
• Strong expertise in:
  • Active Directory Security, Azure Cloud Security, Backup & Recovery solutions, Infrastructure & Virtualisation.
  • Network and Firewall configuration, VPN & Cryptography, IAM, DNS Services.
  • Cybersecurity Architecture and EU compliance frameworks.
• Solid understanding of SIEM implementations and Cloud Security (Azure).
• Conceptual knowledge of BPMS, microservices, containerization, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills — able to translate complex security topics into clear insights.
• Trilingual communication skills: French, Dutch, and English (active knowledge).
• Ability to obtain security clearance (Secret – National & EU level).
• Experience in government or regulated environments.
• Certifications in IT architecture or cybersecurity (e.g. TOGAF, CISSP, CISM).
