Project Context
As part of a large-scale initiative within a structured public-sector environment, we are looking for a QA & Software Testing Specialist with strong expertise in Test Data Migration in UNIX environments.
You will play a key role in ensuring data quality and consistency during the transition from legacy systems to modern solutions, within an international and high-impact environment.
The position is based in Berlin, with a predominantly remote setup, full-time workload, and requires fluent German (C1/C2 level) for daily collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Migrate existing test data from a legacy system (Expleo tool) to a new solution
- Analyze and prepare existing test data inventories
- Perform data transformation and structure mapping
- Process large datasets (CSV, XML, flat files)
- Use regular expressions (Regex) for data analysis and transformation
- Develop and optimize Shell scripts (Bash, ksh, etc.) to automate migration tasks
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency throughout the migration process
- Document migration processes, data logic, and results with precision
Additionally:
- Contribute to testing strategies and validation processes
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to improve overall software quality
Profile & Skills
- Proven experience in data migration and data processing
- Strong expertise in UNIX / Linux environments
- Advanced knowledge of Shell scripting (Bash, ksh, or similar)
- Solid experience with structured data formats (CSV, XML, flat files)
- Strong command of regular expressions (Regex)
- Experience in Excel (data analysis, mapping, transformation)
- Background in QA / software testing is a strong plus
- Detail-oriented, autonomous, and methodical mindset
- Fluent German (C1/C2 minimum – C2 preferred)
