AISB-862 Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support complex enterprise and mission-critical networking infrastructures within an international, change-sensitive environment. The role operates under the guidance of a Senior Routing & Switching Engineer, while requiring strong autonomy and technical ownership. You will be responsible for ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available network connectivity across distributed infrastructures, while contributing to design, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position goes beyond operational support, it involves deep troubleshooting, architectural contribution, and proactive improvement of routing and switching environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced Level 3 support for complex enterprise network environments
• Lead resolution of high-severity and high-impact incidents
• Analyze recurring network issues and implement long-term corrective actions
• Contribute to the design, planning, and implementation of network enhancements and infrastructure projects
• Ensure safe and controlled execution of network changes in line with governance processes
• Support routing and switching operations across distributed sites and infrastructures
• Participate in the standardization and optimization of network configurations and best practices
• Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams and external stakeholders for incident resolution
• Develop, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation
• Support network validation, testing, and acceptance activities when required
• Perform performance analysis and evaluate network management and monitoring tools
• Identify and propose long-term solutions for recurring infrastructure issues
• Contribute to automation, tooling, and operational efficiency initiatives

Required Profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant IT/Engineering field OR 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in complex network engineering environments
• Strong expertise in BGP (iBGP/eBGP, route reflectors, communities, filtering, policy control)
• Solid experience with MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS, IPv6, multicast (PIM, IGMP, MSDP, Anycast RP)
• Experience in SD-WAN environments and large-scale enterprise routing architectures
• Strong knowledge of QoS design (CBWFQ, LLQ, WRED) and traffic engineering for critical services
• Deep understanding of switching technologies (STP, MSTP, LACP, EtherChannel, Nexus, Spine-Leaf, VXLAN)
• Experience with VRF, route redistribution, aggregation, and policy-based routing
• Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP
• Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiarity with network monitoring and event management systems (e.g. CA Spectrum or equivalent)
• Experience with configuration management and ITSM tools (e.g. BMC Remedy)
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, service transition, and incident/change management
• Knowledge of network security principles (ACLs, VPNs, IPSec, AAA, PKI, RBAC)
• Experience writing technical documentation, SOPs, and test plans
• Please note that active NATO Security Clearance is mandatory for this position. Candidates without valid NATO Clearance will not be considered.
