Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support and optimize enterprise platforms in a complex IT environment. The role focuses on managing release processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems.
You will act as a key contributor to DevOps and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, taking ownership of incidents, coordinating releases, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps & Release Management
- Define, implement, and maintain release and deployment processes
- Manage release planning, coordination, and execution
- Package and document releases in line with organizational policies
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using DevOps toolchains
IT Service Management (ITSM)
- Manage Incident, Problem, Change, Deployment, and Release processes
- Act as a coordinator across ITSM processes and stakeholders
- Serve as Single Point of Contact for IT users and internal teams
- Monitor incidents and ensure timely resolution
Operations & Support
- Provide day-to-day operational support across enterprise platforms
- Take ownership of technical issues and service requests
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
- Ensure system reliability, availability, and performance
Continuous Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate operational processes
- Contribute to the optimization of DevOps practices
- Enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities
Technical Management
- Configure and maintain applications across multiple technical layers
- Troubleshoot system, application, and architecture issues
- Monitor performance and debug environments (Linux/Windows)
- Support database and middleware operations
Documentation & Collaboration
- Produce and maintain operational and technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Dev, Ops, Infrastructure)
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
- Proven experience in enterprise-scale environments
- Strong background in release management and ITSM processes
Technical Skills
DevOps & Tools
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub (including Copilot)
- Artifact management: Nexus
- Code quality tools: SonarQube
- Issue tracking: Jira (Data Center or Cloud)
Programming & Scripting
- Proficiency in one or more languages: Bash, Python, Groovy, Java
Infrastructure & Platforms
- Application servers and middleware: Tomcat, Nginx, Apache, JBoss EAP
- Enterprise databases: Oracle, Sybase ASE
- Experience with on-premise enterprise environments
Methodologies
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and release management
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices (incident, problem, release management)
