AISL-254 Senior Data Engineer

At ABAKUS IT SOLUTIONS, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the advanced phases of a strategic in‑house application focused on valuation, data modelling, and reporting. This role is ideal for a senior data professional who enjoys working at the intersection of data engineering, financial modelling, and application development in a highly collaborative environment. 

Your Role & Missions

• Translating complex valuation and calculation models into robust and maintainable Python code
• Contributing to the digital transformation of an in‑house valuation solution by modelling advanced calculation features
• Prototyping front‑end and back‑end data models and interfaces using the OutSystems platform to support application development
• Supporting the IT development team by explaining Python models and OutSystems prototypes for integration into the target application (Java / React)
• Designing, developing, and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines
• Using SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and backend integrations
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical solutions
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation covering processes, models, and design decisions, including Python model documentation for audit and validation purposes
• Working closely with the Product Owner to ensure alignment with project priorities and timely stakeholder communication
• Coordinating with cross‑functional teams (e.g. Integration, Data Warehouse) to manage dependencies and ensure smooth delivery
• Designing test cases in collaboration with QA teams and supporting end‑to‑end testing of complex workflows

Qualifications & Experience

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar senior data role
• A university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong expertise in Python programming, including at least one year of hands‑on project experience
• Excellent data engineering and data modelling skills
• Solid experience with Oracle SQL and backend data integrations
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and frameworks
• Extensive experience with ETL frameworks and automation
• Proven experience in data wrangling, data munging, and sustainable data capture strategies
• Experience applying data encryption and data security standards
• Working knowledge of UNIX and general server administration
• Experience with batch and real‑time processing frameworks
• Familiarity with NoSQL and big data technologies
• Experience in data visualization and reporting
• Software or web development experience to streamline data workflows or deliver tailored reporting solutions
• A proven track record of driving process improvements, automation, and high‑quality data solutions
• Strong business understanding with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional working proficiency in English
