IT Disaster Recovery Coordinator / Business Continuity Manager (Senior)
Context
You will join an IT Security department and report directly to the IT Security Manager.
The core mission of the IT Security service is to design, implement, operate, and maintain information security and resilience processes across the organisation.
Within this context, you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining the IT Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), ensuring it can be activated efficiently in the event of a major incident.
Key Responsibilities
As Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) Coordinator, your main responsibilities will include:
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the IT Disaster Recovery Plan
- Coordinate the entire lifecycle of DRP exercises, including preparation, execution, coordination of involved teams, and post‑exercise debriefing
- Lead application restoration tests for critical systems
- Lead reconstruction and recovery tests for vital applications
- Ensure continuous improvement in the preparation, execution, and follow‑up of recurring tests and exercises
- Coordinate all DRP‑related activities with Service Delivery managers within the IT Security scope
Crisis & Resilience Management
- Support and advise on Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and resilience strategy
- Organise and facilitate crisis simulation exercises and crisis committee tests
- Define and document emergency and incident response procedures
- Perform or contribute to Business Impact Analyses (BIA)
- Drive process analysis and continuous process improvement related to resilience and recovery
Required Skills & Expertise
Mandatory – Expert Level
- Business Continuity Management (full lifecycle)
- Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP, BRP, CMP) built from scratch
- Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
- Crisis management and emergency procedures
- Organisation and execution of DRP / BRP tests and crisis exercises
- Advisory role on BCP implementation
- Strong experience in process analysis and improvement
Languages
- French or Dutch: native or bilingual proficiency
- Second national language (French or Dutch): good level
- English: professional working proficiency
Additional Information
- Hybrid working model: 2–3 days per week on‑site
- Location: Brussels
Nice to Have / Evaluation Criteria
- Experience in the public transport or mobility sector
- Certification ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager (PECB)
- Diploma or certification in Business Continuity Management (BCI) or equivalent
