Position Overview

As part of the expansion of a systems infrastructure team, an opportunity is available for a Junior Windows Administrator. The role is part of an operational team responsible for the lifecycle management of Windows servers and the daily operation of administration and monitoring tools.

The position involves supporting, maintaining, and continuously improving a medium to large-scale Windows infrastructure, while also contributing to technical projects and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration and Operations

  • Install and configure Windows servers
  • Manage the lifecycle of Windows servers (installation, maintenance, updates, and decommissioning)
  • Monitor the daily health of Windows servers (operating system and hardware)
  • Investigate and resolve basic system incidents and escalate when required
  • Track and fulfill service requests

Infrastructure Monitoring and Tools

  • Operate and monitor System Center tools
  • Review daily reports regarding the health of Windows servers and monitoring infrastructure
  • Contribute to the evolution of monitoring tools and the adaptation of monitoring policies

Automation and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)
  • Participate in the optimization of automated processes and workflows
  • Create and manage workflows using Microsoft Orchestrator

Change Management and Documentation

  • Participate in the analysis, planning, and implementation of standard and complex changes
  • Contribute to Problem Management activities in both proactive and reactive contexts
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and procedures
  • Support infrastructure-related customer projects

Operational Support

  • Ensure service quality according to defined service standards 

Profile Required

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Associate Degree (A-level +2) in IT or equivalent professional experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Windows system administration within mid-sized to large infrastructures
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies through self-study and hands-on practice

Technical Skills

Windows Systems (Required)

  • Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2016

Microsoft System Center (Basic Knowledge Required)

  • SCOM (System Center Operations Manager)
  • SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)

Scripting and Administration

  • Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and related services:
    • DHCP
    • DNS
    • Group Policy (GPO)

Networking

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts

Additional Assets

Knowledge of the following tools or environments is considered a plus:

  • Microsoft Orchestrator
  • CyberArk
  • WSUS

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Languages

  • English: Minimum B2 level (required)
  • French: Considered an advantage
