Technical Architect / Development Expert
We're seeking a Technical Architect / Development Expert to join our dedicated Development Experience (DevEx) tribe, where you'll play a pivotal role in establishing and upholding the highest standards for how we create, build, and deliver software.

As we continue to embrace cutting-edge technologies, a significant aspect of this role involves accelerating the integration of AI into our development workflows. You will be instrumental in exploring strategic partnerships, collaborating with external experts, and infusing market-leading AI-driven innovations to ensure our development community remains at the forefront of the industry.
This is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility of 50% in-office work and 50% remote work. Ad-hoc trips to Paris may also be organized for collaborative workshops with our international colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Technical Expert, you will be instrumental in:
- Defining Development Conventions & Guidelines: Spearhead the development of comprehensive coding standards, robust design patterns, intuitive naming conventions, streamlined code review processes, and other essential engineering practices.
- Architectural Oversight: Ensure that our development standards seamlessly align with scalable and maintainable architectural principles, working in close collaboration with system architects.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and support to technical experts at all levels, cultivating a strong culture of high-quality code and continuous improvement.
- Governance: Establish and implement mechanisms for monitoring and enforcing adherence to our meticulously crafted development guidelines.
- Integration of Development Standards into AI-Powered Tooling: Translate our development standards into actionable insights for AI-powered tooling. This includes actively implementing AI Coding assistants to enhance developer productivity and code quality by designing prompt templates, codifying coding rules and architectural patterns into reusable AI instructions, and collaborating with platform teams to ensure AI tools reflect our internal best practices.

Your ability to ensure that your defined standards are widely adopted by the majority of our developers and are recognized by the community as significantly adding value to their work.
Language Requirements:
- Mandatory: Sound knowledge of English.
- Extra: Either French and/or Dutch is a plus.
Required Experience & Knowledge:
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in a dynamic environment.
- Mandatory Business Experience:
- Proven experience in defining and enforcing development standards within large-scale organizations.
- Deep knowledge of modern software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and fostering the growth of engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience with one or more modern languages/frameworks, with a strong preference for Java & Spring/SpringBoot, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Familiarity with robust security best practices.
- Direct experience integrating development standards into AI-powered tooling, including designing prompt templates, codifying coding rules and architectural patterns into reusable AI instructions, and collaborating with platform teams to ensure AI tools reflect internal best practices.
- Experience with embedded AI coding agents within IDEs.

Opportunities are numerous. From bare applications development to of IT infrastructures management including conception, architecture and requirements analysis.
Although open to technologies used by our customers, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS seeks mainly but not only consultants mastering: Windows and Linux Servers, networks, developments (JAVA, SAP, .NET,…) as well as highly specialized experts for example in cybersecurity or in Content Management System (CMS) (SharePoint, Drupal, WebLogic…).
In terms of non-technical competencies, ABAKUS IT-SOLUTIONS hires dynamic persons, open to the world, interested by innovation and having a keen sense of client relationship.
A very good command of English is essential, the capacity to speak French, German or Dutch is an asset.
Even though most of our positions require at least 3 years of experience, some are open to new starters.
