AISB-766 Senior Test Engineer

As a Senior Test Engineer specializing in Regression Testing and Test Automation, your mission is to ensure fast, reliable, and high-quality software releases. You will play a key role in embedding robust regression practices within Agile and DevOps environments, guaranteeing that all features are thoroughly validated end-to-end before reaching production.

 Your Responsibilities

You will take ownership of the testing lifecycle, from strategy to execution, while driving automation and quality excellence across the squad:

• Design, plan, execute, and support all testing phases: Integration, Regression, and Business Acceptance Testing
• Create and maintain test plans and test cases using modern test management tools
• Develop automated API tests using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber (BDD approach)
• Build comprehensive test suites covering functional, regression, and contract testing for RESTful APIs
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation within Agile sprints
• Define and manage test data strategies, including mocking external systems for reliable execution
• Validate API responses for accuracy, performance, and security (status codes, payloads, headers, error handling)
• Collaborate closely with developers to identify, analyze, and resolve defects efficiently
• Advocate for quality by promoting shift-left testing and TDD/BDD practices
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies to improve testability and reduce risks
• Translate business requirements into executable Gherkin scenarios alongside Product Owners
• Monitor and report on test coverage, defect trends, and automation performance
• Mentor team members on API testing best practices and automation tools
• Stay ahead of industry trends and bring innovative testing approaches to the team

 Your Profile

Education

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience

Certifications (Nice-to-have)

• Testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Agile Testing)
• API testing tools or frameworks certifications

Languages

• Fluent in English
• French and/or Dutch are a plus

 Technical Expertise

Must-have

• 5+ years of experience in IT Testing with strong seniority
• Solid experience in API test automation using Java, Rest-Assured, and Cucumber
• Expertise in functional, regression, and integration testing
• Strong ability to design robust and data-driven test cases
• Experience with mocking frameworks to simulate dependencies
• Hands-on knowledge of REST APIs, authentication methods, and error handling
• Proficiency in Java (8+) and Spring Boot for testing and mocking
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools
• Strong analytical and debugging skills

Nice-to-have

• Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI
• Familiarity with databases and legacy system integrations
• Basic understanding of performance and security testing principles

• Understanding of loan or credit processes is a strong advantage
• Experience in financial services or banking environments is highly valued
