AISB-936 Database Administrator Platform (SQL Server / Azure)

ABAKUS-IT-SOLUTIONS is looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join a mission-critical international environment in Braine-l'Alleud.

This position requires working on highly sensitive systems supporting critical operations. An active NATO Secret Security Clearance is mandatory for this assignment. Candidates without the required clearance cannot be considered.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and backup of database platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Design and maintain data collection, transformation, and integration processes across multiple database technologies.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and availability of database platforms, ensuring optimal service levels. 
• Develop automation scripts and workflows for administration, monitoring, maintenance, and reporting activities. 
• Create operational reports and dashboards supporting database lifecycle and performance management.
• Contribute to cloud migration and modernization initiatives involving Azure database technologies. 
• Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance. 
• Implement and maintain data governance, security, and quality standards. 
• Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, architectural designs, and support runbooks. 
• Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex database incidents and technical issues. 

Required Skills & Experience

Database Administration

• Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server administration experience. 
• Strong expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB. 
• Knowledge of NoSQL technologies, preferably MongoDB. 

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Strong experience with:

• Always On Availability Groups
• Failover Clustering
• Replication
• Backup and Recovery Strategies

Cloud & Automation

• Microsoft Azure SQL Database
• Azure SQL Managed Instance
• Azure Virtual Machines

Security & Governance

• Database security best practices
