AISB-644 IT Functional analyst

We are looking for an experienced IT Functional Analyst to play a key role in translating business needs into robust, scalable IT solutions. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-level applications in a complex and agile environment.

The Functional Analyst identifies business problems and requirements, evaluates solution options, and designs detailed functional solutions that can be integrated into the enterprise IT landscape while considering costs, benefits, architecture, and security standards.

 Key Responsibilities

Preparation Phase

  • Support the business analyst and stakeholders in reflecting on solution options
  • Propose relevant alternatives aligned with enterprise architecture, strategy, and cost/benefit considerations
  • Ensure compliance with architectural, security, and enterprise standards
  • Collaborate closely with architects to define the solution architecture
  • Work in close coordination with the project manager, asset manager, and product owner
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders, business analysts, and IT asset teams, ensuring a unified and clear understanding of business needs

Elaboration Phase

  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications
  • Align with involved assets on functional responsibilities
  • Design application-level solutions and assess impacts on existing components
  • Collaborate with technical teams to clarify and formalize their requirements

Construction Phase

  • Follow up on development and testing activities to ensure alignment with functional specifications
  • Define technical components involving multiple teams (integration layers, queues, security, etc.)
  • Support suppliers during development, integration, and assembly testing
  • Analyze defects during testing phases
  • Support release and deployment activities across environments

Production & Support

  • Provide ad hoc support once solutions are live
  • Analyze production incidents and coordinate resolution
  • Maintain and update functional and technical documentation

In an Agile context, preparation, elaboration, and construction activities are iteratively combined and delivered through sprints.

 Experience & Skills

Required

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience as a Functional Analyst
  • Strong functional and technical knowledge of IT systems
  • Knowledge of the Miles application
  • Hands-on experience with Scrum
  • Solid understanding of analysis methodologies aligned with enterprise standards

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the banking and financial domain

  • Strong knowledge of English
  • Proficiency in Dutch and/or French
