We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with experience in Alteryx, SQL, and data flow optimization, who can combine technical expertise with an understanding of the banking business. You will play a key role in enhancing, streamlining, and maintaining our data pipelines to deliver high-quality dashboards and ad-hoc reporting for end users across corporate banking functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ingest, transform, and integrate data from multiple systems, ensuring high reliability and accuracy.
- Analyze, simplify, and optimize existing Alteryx workflows and data flows, applying clean coding principles, removing redundancies, and improving maintainability.
- Identify obsolete datasets and workflows, refactor or retire them, and harmonize historization and retention rules.
- Design and maintain reusable Alteryx macros to centralize repeated transformations and ensure consistent logic across workflows.
- Rationalize legacy processes, migrating useful SAS transformations into maintainable Alteryx logic and reducing cross-platform complexity.
- Support and enhance release and deployment processes, increasing automation and quality checks for safer and faster operations.
- Apply and enforce documentation standards for datasets and workflows to ensure clarity, discoverability, and effective usage.
- Implement robust monitoring systems to track data quality and performance, enabling timely issue resolution.
- Oversee multi-instance batch management, ensuring synchronization and efficient resource usage across environments.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Alteryx (or similar ETL tools) and SQL (Transact-SQL).
- Experience with version control systems (SVN, Git).
- Knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server) and data visualization techniques (Tableau or similar).
- Preferable: hands-on experience with SAS, Python (or similar), CI/CD practices, banking or financial industry experience, Agile methodology.
- Languages: Fluent in English and at least one local language (Dutch or French).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to connect technical details to a global business vision.
- Excellent communication, knowledge-sharing, and proactive collaboration skills.
