In order to ensure that our apps and data are protected, we are looking for an Network Security Engineer (m/f/x) to take over the management of F5 BIG-IP products in an enterprise environment. As security specialist, you will design and build infrastructure solutions ready to cope with tomorrow’s demand in security. You manage and enhance the F5 BIG-IP solutions and you are part of the system administration team.

You are working at the following location: Cologne and/or remote possible in the fight against COVID-19

Your role & responsibilities:

• Based on tangible business requirements, you provide technical expertise on IT infrastructure and network setup, expansion or refactoring;
• You are enhancing the F5 Big IP solutions with focus on the F5 products APM (Access Policy Manager), AWAF (Web Application Firewall), LTM / GTM (Traffic Management), ASM (Application Security Manager)
• You analyse and assess possible solution scenarios, you design and prototype the changes and enhancements necessary for the target infrastructure;
• You produce blueprints and technical specifications taking IT architecture standards into consideration;
• You lead the subsequent implementation (installation, configuration, testing, rollout) and performance optimisation of the infrastructure and networking solutions;
• You work closely with the infrastructure and operations team in order to integrate software applications securely into the IT environment.

Your profile:

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT or engineering;
• You have at least 3 years of professional experience in an IT infrastructure and networking engineering role;
• You have experience in setting up security solutions on base of F5 BIG-IP product family;
• As system administrator, you have advanced know-how in the field of networking, storage, data center and cloud administration;
• You command of English is excellent (minimum at B2 level).
