Senior Test Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer with proven experience in validating data migration strategies and executing dry runs for large-scale IT platform transitions.
Key responsibilities:
- Test migration strategies: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for migration strategies, ensuring all scenarios are thoroughly validated.
- Runbook documentation: Create detailed runbooks documenting migration scenarios, including critical timings, dependencies, and key attention points.
- Test preparation & execution: Ensure that all conditions are met for successful migration testing and perform dry run tests to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the migration.
- Data normalization & comparison: Normalize and compare large datasets (fixed-length files, CSV, XLS) efficiently, ensuring consistency between the source and target environments.
- Cross-Functional collaboration: Work closely with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to align testing efforts with project goals.
- Progress reporting: Regularly update stakeholders on the progress of the testing, challenges encountered, and proposed solutions.
- UAT testing support: Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the new platform, leveraging your quick learning and adaptability.
Required skills & experience:
- Proven experience: At least 3 years of experience in testing migration strategies and validating migration tests, ideally in the financial services sector (transaction banking experience is a plus).
- Strong documentation skills: Ability to create clear, precise, and detailed runbooks.
- Data expertise: Experience in normalizing and comparing large datasets (CSV, XLS) and using the associated tools efficiently.
- Collaboration skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, capable of working in a multilingual environment.
- Analytical skills: Ability to interpret business requirements and provide actionable solutions.
- Attention to detail: A methodical, precise approach with a focus on risk management.
- Language skills: Proficiency in English (knowledge of French is a plus, Dutch is not required).
- Prior experience in IT platform overhauls for financial institutions.
- Knowledge of transaction banking systems and financial data migration.
- Stress-resilient, able to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Proactive, hands-on attitude, ready to take on new challenges.

- Excellent ability to work in teams and collaborate with international teams.
