We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a dynamic team, working under the direction of a Principal Project Manager (Lead PM). You will manage projects and sub-projects end-to-end, working independently or leading a small team through every phase, from initiation to closure.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Define, document, and execute projects or sub-projects, transitioning them into service
- Apply appropriate project management methods and tools
- Identify, assess, and manage risks effectively
- Agree project approach with stakeholders and build realistic project plans (scope, schedule, quality, risk, communication)
- Track activities against the schedule and manage stakeholder involvement
- Monitor cost, time, quality, and resources; take corrective action when tolerances are exceeded
- Deliver projects on time, on budget, and within scope
- Develop project proposals based on customer requirements and agreements
- Manage the project team to deliver against customer agreements
- Provide regular, accurate project status reports
Requirements Definition and Management
- Define and manage scoping, requirements definition, and prioritisation for initiatives of medium size and complexity
- Facilitate stakeholder input and enable effective prioritisation
- Establish requirements baselines and ensure traceability to source
Risk Management
- Carry out risk management activities within a specific function or project of medium complexity
- Identify risks and vulnerabilities, assess impact and probability, and develop mitigation strategies
- Involve specialists and domain experts as needed
Contract Management
- Act as a routine point of contact with suppliers on contract management matters
- Support collection of contract performance data and produce standard performance reports
- Deputize for senior Project Management staff as required
- Perform other related duties as needed
Required Profile
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, physics, electronics, or another relevant scientific/engineering discipline, plus 2 years of related experience — or, exceptionally, at least 6 years of extensive, progressive experience in a similar role in lieu of a degree
- Recognised Project Management certification (PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP) or equivalent demonstrated expertise
- Recent experience (less than 3 years) in C4ISR project management and/or development projects for a large organization
- Experience with project management tools, including cost and labour management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with tact, diplomacy, and strong briefing ability
Desirable
- Experience working in an international environment with both military and civilian stakeholders
- Familiarity with large multinational organizational structures
Practical Details
- Location: Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium (full time, on-site)
- Occasional travel within Belgium (up to once per month)
- Security clearance required: NATO Secret
