As a Data Engineer Support SME, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing a complex suite of enterprise applications. You will work closely with functional and technical stakeholders to ensure smooth data flows, robust reporting, and reliable automation across multiple systems.
This position combines data engineering, application support, automation and reporting, with a strong focus on quality, performance and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts to automate data exchanges, workflows and integrations with external applications and APIs
- Designing, developing and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server objects (queries, functions, stored procedures, jobs)
- Supporting data administration, integrity and consistency across multiple enterprise applications
- Creating and maintaining reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI Report Server
- Monitoring and operating deployed scripts, SQL jobs and automation processes to ensure reliability and performance
- Supporting testing activities across development, validation and production environments
- Collecting user requirements and translating them into technical and functional specifications
- Assisting with data analysis, forensic investigations and reporting related to data protection and compliance
- Collaborating with internal IT teams and service providers on application support and improvement initiatives
- Participating in technical discussions, briefings and knowledge sharing sessions
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Strong experience as a Data Engineer, SQL Developer, Application Support Engineer or similar role

Proven hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later)
- PowerShell scripting, including API integrations
- SSRS and/or Power BI Report Server
- Experience working in complex enterprise or institutional IT environments is a strong plus
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g. Azure DevOps) for requirements, testing or project tracking is an asset
- Advanced SQL development and query optimization
- Automation and scripting with PowerShell
- Reporting and data visualization
- Data quality, validation and monitoring
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
